Cycling

Holiday spent on a bicycle goes well together with Vranov region. More and more visitors are discovering the staggering nature in Podyjí National park and Vranov from the saddle of a bicycle. The varying landscape offers a terrain for demanding cyclists and hobbyists alike, the latter can for example head for the plains around river Thaya, and take the kids as well.
 

Ready for cyclists

For cyclists, we have prepared the appropriate facilities, including CyclePoints and large amount of accommodation bearing the Cyclists welcome certificate. If your car is too small to fit your bike or you find carrying it too much a hustle, you can always use our bike rentals, which are fully available. Our friendly staff will gladly advise you where to go, in case you would like to head out for a ride or a shorter trip with your kids.
 

FOREST TRAILS, SPEED & ADRENALIN

Winding forest trails, steep climbs and fast descents – do you also adore the adrenalin rush on two wheels? Step on the pedals and show us what you've got! The demanding terrain of the land we have here proves to be a challenge for many cyclists. You should try to take it up!

CYCLOBUS TRIPS

Cyclobus is the ideal way of making your trip more confortable and getting reasonably far without too much struggle. Staying in Vranov region during summer, you have the ability to use the Cyklotrans company cyclobus, going regularly from České Budějovice to Znojmo. Cyclobuses are in operation from 15th of June to 1st of September. For the actual timetable of this „Green Line“, as it is called – please visit the company web page. One of its advantages is also its synchronization with rail transport – in several stations (Třeboň, Nová Bystřice, Slavonice, Šumná and Znojmo) the cyclobus is harmonized with the arrival of the train.
 

CYCLE ROUTES ACROSS THE REGION

No matter which direction you choose in the Vranov region, you can certainly find minor tracks, but also bigger and more known routes, some of which will lead you across the border, if you wish so.
 

EUROVELO 13

One of the highest quality cycle routes is the international EuroVelo 13 tour route. It leads its way across Europe with well-marked and reinforced roads. Detailed information on the course of the route is for your disposal at www.eurovelo.com
 

GREENWAYS

Another international cycle route crossing the Vranov region is Greenway Prague – Wien. Detailed information on the course of this route, you'll find at www.greenways.cz
 

ROUTE OF THE SIX CITIES

An interesting alternative for cyclists is the Route of the six cities. It runs through Znojmo, and mainly connects the cycle networks of Znojmo and Austria together. More detailed information on the course of the route can be found at Cyklo Jižní Morava.
 

MLYNÁŘSKÁ (MILLER) TRAIL

The Mlynářská trail is almost 200km in length, beginning in Nové Město na Moravě, running through Znojmo and ending in Austria. Detailed information on the course of this route can be found at Mlynářská stezka.

 

ROUTE OF THE PODYJÍ NATIONAL PARK

This circular route will lead you informingly about the wonderful corners of our land. Following it, you will stop at the infamous Šobes vineyard! For detailed information on the course of the route look up the Cyklo Jižní Morava.
 

A CIRCUIT ROUTE ACROSS VRANOV

In case you want to enjoy the length and breadth of project Vranov, you should try the Circuit route across Vranov.
